Mediation is a process in which an impartial third party helps people in dispute to reach a mutually acceptable agreement.
Willow Tree Housing Partnership currently employs mediators from Devon Mediation who have no connection with us and aren’t part of our organisation. There is a short film on their website which shows how mediations works.
The mediators will help the parties identify the issues, explore possible solutions and develop a written agreement. Mediation has a positive focus on future rather than past behaviour.
The mediators organise meetings with each party concerned, frequently leading to a joint meeting between the parties. Sometimes, if a joint meeting cannot be held, mediation is conducted indirectly through “shuttle” meetings.
